Frequently Asked Questions
Listed below are some common questions clients have for me. If you have other questions, feel free to contact me.
Q: Should I give you photography credit if I post or use your photos on platforms like Instagram, Facebook, etc.?
A: Giving me photography credit is strongly recommended and encouraged, as it provides the necessary recognition for me as an artist. It will increase exposure for both you and me, and is almost effortless to do. Feel free to tag me (@chw_photo) in any Instagram posts!
Q: How many photos will we get?
A: I will deliver every photo I edit, not every photo I take. Some photos are eliminated for quality or composition issues. For a 5 hour event, expect at least 150-400 photos. There are a lot of factors that affect this quantity, including event type and schedule.
Q: What file format do you shoot in, and what format will the delivered photos be in?
A: I shoot in the NEF (Nikon Electronic Format) file format on my camera. This is Nikon's special RAW file format and requires a special software to open or view. I shoot in NEF because it preserves all data captured from my camera sensor. This ensures that every photo you receive will be of the best quality possible. The photos you receive will be in a JPG (Joint Photographic Experts Group) file format. It will be a 2048px sized photo that has a size of at most 5000 KB (5 MB). For any specific requests related to this topic, please contact me.
Q: Do you edit all the photos you deliver?
A: Yes, every photo goes through a special editing and post-production process after they are shot. This includes things like exposure adjustments, color correction, clarity adjustments, and other corrections. All of this is done by me.
Q: How will I get the edited photos?
A: I will upload all my photos to a shareable Google Drive folder and send it to you. This ensures that the quality of every photo is preserved to the fullest extent. For any specific requests related to this topic, please contact me.
Q: When will I get the edited photos?
A: I usually take at most one week to select and edit ~500 photos. This is dependent on many factors, including photo type, photo quality, event type, and photo quantity. Keep in mind that I am a high school student that does photography on the side — my workload from school may affect delivery speed!
